It gets misty in the Valley during the winter months and to keep from getting the S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) it’s important to get out as much as possible.
This past weekend we decided to go on a picnic to Lockhart Beach Provincial Park. It’s only about 50 kms away and is a public beach right on the big lake. The Kootenay Lake is one of the largest lakes in British Columbia being over 140 km in length.
This little beach is located on the East Shore and has a small provincial campground just across the highway. We have camped there before and plan on going again. There is only about 18 spots so you need to stop early.
I love the logs washed up on the beach. I’m pretty sure we found someones house.
The lake was beautiful, but a little rough. We saw one boat out on the lake as we drove home. Wonder if they were catching anything?
What do you do to counter the Winter Blues?
