Reno Update

It feels like we have been at this for months!  Wait a minute, we have been.

basement bathIn purchasing an older home thbasement bath1ere were a few cosmetic and some necessary renovations that needed to be done, including a surprise or two.  The surprise sewer back up was taken care of immediately, see the post here.  Putting the basement bathroom back in will take more time.

Eventually we were able to start on the renos that I had been looking forward to.  The paint and the flooring.  After, of course, removing the old carpet and all the wallpaper.

The great roomcrowbar; which includes the linew wallving, dining and a porch; has been torn apart, recovered and restored.  All that is left is the trim baseboards to go on for some great “before and afters”.

Kitchen is painted.  This was a tougher match than I thought.  We could not replace the counter so needed to have a colour that would blend.  The gray I picked was just not right, so I went with white.  Can’t wait to show you the “before and after” of that room.  The flooring was going to be the same as the great room, however after some thought we have decided to put in tile.  If laminate floor gets wet, well, you have a mess!  The tile will be in the kitchen and run into the laundry room and down two stairs to the back entry.   We also gained a nook in the kitchen, this will have the laminate flooring.

Floor in SpareMst B1

The last room to be painted is our bedroom.  I chose Pebble Gray and Smoked Plum from Behr paint. The flooring has been started in the spare room.   It’s looking good and getting closer to being done.
