The Rusty Moose

The other day, Bop and I ran away for the afternoon.  We headed down across the border to Bonners Ferry.  No agenda except fun.

We decided to stop and have lunch at the Rusty Moose.  It is a little cafe in the historic downtown.  By the way there are some pretty sweet little shops down there as well!  Great for a day trip from town.rusty-moose

The Rusty Moose has a regular menu and special of the day; and the desserts, oh my heaven!  We started with coffee, served in red mugs.  I’m pretty sure the red mugs made the coffee taste better. coffee-tastes-better-in-red-cups

I had a BLT with fries and Bop had a steak sandwich with the soup of the day.  So delicious.  I hope you get an opportunity to visit there.  red-inside

A Great Place to Eat

Had a Sunday drive to Sand Point, ID just to visit the area.  We found some wonderful little shops and a great place to eat.

We were directed to MickDuff’s Brewing Company by a local store owner.  What a find.  Nestled into the main downtown area, 312 North First Avenue, MickDuff’s offers a great menu; their own handcrafted beers in a family-friendly pub atmosphere.  MickDuff's Mickduff

They are open 7 days a week with a special of the day, kids menu and vegetarian and gluten free options.  They even have home brewed Root Beer!  Inside is a rustic and homey atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff.  I love how they store they mugs.Carabiner

For lunch, we picked one special, a Turkey, Bacon, Pesto served on a fresh bun with a side of Idaho homemade fries; and the BLTA, Bacon, lettuce, tomato & avocado with garlic mayonnaise and served on all natural sourdough bread.  The BLTA was mine and I had it with regular mayonnaise, with a side order of their homemade potato chips.  For a drink we each had a coffee.  No this is not a beer story, maybe next time.BLT Turkey; Bacon; pesto

The meal was amazing.  It was hard to pick which we liked the most, even the coffee was delicious.  I hope, if you are ever in Sandpoint you can stop by for a meal at MickDuff’s.

Please give their facebook page a thumbs up and let them know how you enjoyed your meal.  Find them on Facebook here and on Twitter here.
